Lake Forest, CA October 11, 2009, Dean de St. Croix tops Podium at the 5th Barber Vintage Festival.
Dean de St. Croix - Experienced rider and former series Champion - scored a "hat-trick" of wins to again establish himself as the man to beat in the 250 and 350 GP classes, winning 3 races on the fly with his Henry Hogben built Ducati. Dean and the team decided to try their hand at the 500 GP Premiere class this season making it the three Ultimate GP classes for the team. The bike being developed by Ken Rosevear is a world beating 500cc Geoff Monty Special BSA GoldStar. Being a development year and having nothing more than historical images for reference - expectations were modest to say the least. Having secured wins last year on the debut of the 350 GP BSA Dean had high hopes though. Those hopes were not to be disappointed with two 2nd place finishes during our FIRST RACE at Mosport in Canada this summer. The competition would prove quite a bit stronger at Barber this year as expected but the bike and Dean rode to an incredible 3rd and 4th place finish in the premiere class - first time out in AHRMA's most competitive class. Teething problems on Saturday and a mysterious ignition problem kept practice time to a minimum but the results speak for themselves. An amazing accomplishment and a close finish to what is considered by many to be some of the fastest Premiere GP bikes and riders in the world.
