(Lake Forest, CA March 28, 2011) - Tyler Bright used the break in the 2011 East Coast Supercross Lites series to return to his winning ways in the rough and tumble Arenacross wars. The track at the Bi-Lo Center Greenville, South Carolina, was extra tight and featured as many crashes in one race as the entire season so far... A little bar-banging was just what the doctor ordered for Bright as he won both his heat race and the main event in commanding fashion!
Now riding for the legendary Jimmy Weinert in the SX races, Bright was the 2008 Arenacross Lites champ, and he proved he still has the skills that made him #1. Not only did he win his heat race, he grabbed the holeshot in the main and motored away from the pack to a commanding 15 second lead. "Tyler has been having some bad luck in the SX events, so it seemed like a good idea to build his confidence with a little AX action," says Weinert, who sponsors both the #709 Bright and the #89 Taylor Futrell in Supercross as a way to showcase his new MX training facility.
"If it wasn't for bad luck, Tyler would have no luck at all in Supercross," says Scorpion's marketing/advertising gal, Suzie Kirby. "One week he gets 3rd in the LCQ and the next week in Jacksonville another rider crashed him out of both his heat race and the LCQ, so we are happy for Tyler to show he still has the speed and technical skills to win... he just needs to catch a break!"
This speed and skill is why Scorpion was happy to step up and sponsor Bright this season. For his return to the top of the podium, Bright was competing in Scorpion's NEW VX34 dirt helmet. "We're not saying that the new helmet resulted in the win, but the results speak for themselves," quips Kirby. "The all new design and technology of the VX34 helmet is top notch and we see a 'Bright' future for it!"
The all NEW design of the VX34 helmet features Scorpion's trademarked AIRFIT® technology; riders can pump up the proprietary cheek pad inflation system to ensure the perfect fit. Further protection is provided by an all new lighter polycarbonate shell combined with a state-of-the-art dual density EPS liner. This combination of superior fit and protection meets or exceeds all ECE/DOT safety standards.
